Webinar: Identifying Challenges and Opportunities in LLIN Continuous Distribution Systems

May 21, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am EDT

Results from Process Assessments in Three sub-Saharan African Countries.

In 2018, The United States President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) VectorLink project undertook long-lasting insecticide-treated net (LLIN) continuous distribution system assessments in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Niger. The assessment design built on the global learning and successes of work by the Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP) on distribution systems. The objectives were to describe the current status of country systems and identify and prioritize improvements with the potential to bring efficiency gains to continuous distribution systems. The assessments support the goal of supporting planned and strategic LLIN distribution in endemic countries.

In this webinar, representatives from the PMI VectorLink Project will present:

  • The process assessment design framework and the methods used to collect information from key informants at national, regional, district, and health facility levels;
  • Key observations from each country, identifying trends and outliers across the three settings; and
  • Preliminary recommendations developed with NMCP and country LLIN stakeholders to reinforce LLIN continuous distribution systems.

A facilitated discussion will lead participants through the early implications for LLIN distribution programs throughout Africa and the next steps required to strengthen LLIN distribution to key beneficiaries in support of maintaining LLIN coverage.
