World Mosquito Day

In 1987 British Doctor, Sir Ronald Ross, discovered that the female Anopheles mosquito is responsible for transmitting malaria to humans. He thereby declared that August 20th be recognized as World Mosquito Day. Mosquitos are among the world’s deadliest animal, responsible for deadly diseases like Dengue, Malaria and Zika.
